Hosted by River Voices - $30 adults $10 children includes workshop, morning tea and lunch
This singing workshop is offered in partnership with the Australian National Choral Association (ANCA) and facilitated by Sharon Batterham. The workshop will focus on aspects of group singing such as breathing, choral exercises and listening techniques, with a variety of pieces to sing on the day. We look forward to sharing with you Sharon's expertise, her sense of humour and lots of fun singing. Ability to read music is not essential. Two workshop sessions will be held in the morning, with a choir showcase that family and friends can attend after lunch. All singers welcome! Full description: This singing workshop is hosted by River Voices and presented in partnership with the Australian National Choral Association (ANCA). ANCA's aims are to support, develop and create choral music throughout Australia . ANCA's Sharon Batterham is a choral music and vocal specialist, with several years’ experience as a soloist, chorister and conductor. She completed tertiary music studies at the University of Melbourne, with a Bachelor of Music, in composition and voice, and a Bachelor of Music Education. Conducting and training in choral pedagogy followed and Sharon was selected from conductors around the world to attend the 3rd Choral Symposium held by the Toronto Children’s Chorus. Sharon is now the Music Director of Southern Voices. She is in demand as a presenter at choral workshops for all age groups. Sharon is the Director of Cantabella, the senior choir of Canterbury Girls’ Secondary College and is a voice teacher. She was an adjudicator at the Australian National Eisteddfod’s annual choirs event in 2017. Sharon is president of ANCA Vic/Tas. River Voices Choir was established in Echuca in 2013. The choir shares in the joy of singing and developing musical excellence and diversity in our community. The choir is committed to achieving a high standard of performance across a broad range of repertoire. River Voices members had the pleasure of working with Sharon Batterham at SingFest in 2017 and we are so pleased to have her returning to Echuca Moama for this workshop. Anyone who likes to sing is welcome.
